What a CGI product video really costs
Quotes for “a CGI product video” can differ widely, because studios put very different amounts of work under the same name. This guide shows what you are paying for, what moves the price, and how to compare quotes fairly.

The short answer What you are paying for The six things that move the price Real fixed prices, for comparison How to compare two quotes What a studio needs from you to start Questions people askThe short answer
A short CGI product film (10 to 15 seconds, one product) starts at ₹19,999 at Nuvii Studios, a matched set of three launch films is ₹39,999, and eight films across a catalogue are ₹89,999. What changes the price anywhere is the same: how many products and films, whether the set is custom, how complex the materials are, sound, formats and revision rounds.
What you are paying for
A CGI product film replaces a camera, a set and a crew with a 3D version of your product, lit and filmed inside software. Every quote covers some mix of the same stages:
- Modelling. Rebuilding your product in 3D from photos, dimensions and packaging artwork, accurate enough to hold up in a close-up.
- Materials. Making glass, metal, leather, fabric or liquid behave like the real thing under light. This is where cheap work usually shows.
- Set and lighting. Either a ready-made studio set or an environment designed only for your product.
- Animation and camera. How the product and the camera move across 10 to 15 seconds.
- Rendering and grading. Turning each frame into a final image and colour-grading the result.
- Sound. Either music-ready (you add trending audio yourself) or full sound design.
- Exports and revisions. Vertical, square and widescreen versions, and the rounds of changes included.
Two quotes at very different prices are often two different lists. One may include a custom set, sound and three formats; the other a library set and a single vertical export.
The six things that move the price
1. How many products, and how many films
Each new product needs its own model and materials. Several films of the same product cost less per film than one film each of several products, because the model is reused.
2. A library set or a custom world
A clean studio set from an existing library is quick. An environment built only for your product, matched to its story and colours, takes days of extra work and is the single biggest jump in most quotes.
3. Materials that are hard to fake
Clear glass, liquids, brushed metal and soft fabric take more care than a matte box. Perfume, watches and skincare are among the most demanding categories, which is exactly why they benefit most from good CGI.
4. Sound
Music-ready films leave space for audio you choose on the platform. Full sound design (whooshes, textures, the click of a cap) is built frame by frame and costs more.
5. Formats and revision rounds
Every extra aspect ratio is a re-framed and re-rendered film, not a crop. Check how many rounds of changes are included and what counts as one round.
6. Timeline
Rushed delivery means rendering overnight and working weekends. A sensible timeline is cheaper, and for most launches a week or two is enough.
Real fixed prices, for comparison
Studios rarely publish prices. Ours are fixed and public, which makes them a useful yardstick even if you choose someone else:
| Package | Films | Set | Sound | Formats | Rounds | Delivery | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Social Hook Pack | 1 × 10–15 s | Studio library | Music-ready | 9:16, 1:1 | 1 | 7 days | ₹19,999 |
| Product Launch Suite | 3 × 10–15 s | Custom | Full sound design | 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 | 2 | 10 days | ₹39,999 |
| Premium Catalog Makeover | 8 × 10–15 s | Custom per product family | Full sound design | 9:16, 1:1, 16:9 | 3 | Agreed at kickoff | ₹89,999 |
Every package includes full commercial usage rights and is paid half to begin and half on delivery. Delivery time counts from the day we have your photos, dimensions and an approved direction.
How to compare two quotes
Put each quote next to these questions. A quote that cannot answer them is not cheaper, just vaguer.
- How long is each film, and how many films is it?
- Is the set from a library, or built for my product?
- Which formats are delivered: vertical, square, widescreen?
- Is sound design included, or only a music-ready file?
- How many revision rounds, and what counts as one?
- Who owns the result, and for which uses: ads, store, social, print?
- When does the delivery clock start, and what happens if it slips?
- How is payment split, and is anything charged on top later?
What a studio needs from you to start
Most delays come from missing material, not from the studio. Have these ready and the clock starts the same day:
- Clear photos of the product from every side, including the base and any cap or lid
- Exact dimensions, and the materials and finishes (for example frosted glass, gold-plated cap)
- Label and packaging artwork as files, plus your logo and brand colours
- Two or three reference films or images showing the feel you want
No sample has to be shipped and nobody has to be on set. That is a large part of why CGI is quicker to start than a shoot.
Questions people ask
Is a CGI video cheaper than a product shoot?
It often is once you need more than one output. A shoot is paid again for every new angle, colourway or season, while a 3D product can be re-lit and re-filmed. For a single, simple product photo a shoot can be cheaper. Our guide CGI vs a product photoshoot covers when each one wins.
Can a CGI product video be made from photos?
Yes. The product is rebuilt in 3D from clear photos, its dimensions and its packaging artwork. Nothing has to be shipped.
How long does a CGI product video take?
At Nuvii, one film takes 7 days, a set of three takes 10 days, and a full catalogue is scheduled at kickoff. Time counts from the day the photos, dimensions and creative direction are in.
Do I own the CGI film?
With Nuvii, yes: every package includes full commercial usage rights, so you can run the films in ads, on your store and on social. Always check the usage terms in any quote.
How is a CGI film paid for?
Nuvii bills half to begin and half on delivery, each with its own invoice and receipt, payable by UPI, card or netbanking.
